Kicking off the season will be Godspell, conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak, with music and
new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz: June 14-15, 18-22. This musical extravaganza of Biblical proportions has been
pleasing audiences since the 70’s.
Barefood in the Park
by Neil Simon; June 26-29
Next will be Neil Simon’s first major hit comedy Barefoot In The Park: June 26-29, directed by Lauren Morris.
Morris directed Of Mice and Men and The Foreigner in past Shawnee seasons and will also be
serving as Associate Producing Artistic Director this season.
The Diviners

The third production of the season will be The Diviners, by James Leonard, Jr.: July 3-6 Leonard is an Indiana
University graduate and founder of the Bloomington Playwright’s Project. Current Bloomington Playwright’s Project
Artistic Director, Richard Perez will act in the production. Audience favorite Terrence K. Monte of last season’s
The Nerd and Much Ado About Nothing will return to Shawnee to make his directorial debut.
My Way, A Musical Tribute To Frank Sinatra

On the heels of the wildly successful Hank Williams, Lost Highway, the Shawnee will be producing
My Way, A Musical Tribute To Frank Sinatra, conceived by David Grapes and Todd Olson, book by Todd Olson:
July 10-13, 17-20. This popular musical review features over fifty songs recorded by “Old Blue Eyes.”
Almost, Maine

The bittersweet and heartwarming romantic comedy Almost, Maine by John Cariani rounds out the fifth spot in the
season: July 24-27. All is not quite what it seems as Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of
love in unexpected, unusual, and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken, and ache is all
around as love is lost, found and realized.
Dracula
by Alan Shepard; July 31, Aug 1-3
The finale of the season will be a world premier adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula by Alan Shepard:
July 31, Aug 1-3. Shawnee audiences will remember Shepard from his striking performance of George in last
season’s Of Mice and Men.
